How do I care for my BATIQUA batik products?

Our batiks can be gently hand or machine washed in cold water or at room temperature. The colors are set to stay, but we recommend air drying to prevent the cotton from shrinking. Iron on a warm setting, and treat your batik like a high-quality cotton shirt for the best results.

What’s the difference between barkweave and cotton?

The key distinction is in the texture. We make both.
Barkweave fabric has a rougher feel due to the unique weaving technique we use, and is often finished with fringed edges. Cotton, in contrast, is much smoother. All of our cotton is 100% locally produced in Zimbabwe.
