Meticulously crafted through a centuries-old technique that breathes life into fabric. It begins with a thin layer of porridge applied to the fabric, which, as it hardens, cracks, creating the perfect canvas for vibrant paint to penetrate.

Our fabric, a custom-woven barkweave made from strands of cotton yarn, is washed and carefully scraped to remove the excess porridge, leaving behind areas that resist the paint. The result is a stunning, organic crackle effect that’s as unique as the artist behind it. No two pieces are ever alike.

Once dried—either by the warmth of the sun or in our custom-built heater—our skilled tailors transform the fabric into beautiful, functional pieces, from cushion covers to bedspreads, that grace homes and stores across the world.
